AN ORIGINAL SELAH37 PRAYER
Jesus, you understand human weakness. Help me notice the moment when desire begins to pull me toward harm. Make the next honest choice clear. Give me courage to leave the situation, contact someone trustworthy, and accept accountability. If I fall, lead me to truth, repair, and a renewed beginning. Amen.

Biblical foundation
Hebrews invites people in weakness to seek mercy. Paul’s warning to Corinth calls for sober attention, not confidence that we are immune to failure.
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
1 Corinthians 10:13 Read in WEB ↗For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. Let’s therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:15-16 Read in WEB ↗Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’
Matthew 6:13 Read in WEB ↗
Remove one easy route into harm and contact a person who supports your recovery.
Study the context
Read 1 Corinthians 10:1–14: the promise appears with a warning against complacency and a concrete command to flee idolatry.
Read the surrounding chapters before drawing a conclusion from an individual verse. These notes are study guidance, not a promise of a particular outcome.
