AN ORIGINAL SELAH37 PRAYER
Merciful God, I ask for healing and relief. Give the people caring for me skill, attention, and compassion. Help me speak honestly about pain and follow wise treatment. When answers are slow, sustain me and those beside me. Let me know that my worth does not depend on being well. Amen.

Biblical foundation
James encourages prayer and the support of church elders. Paul also describes grace within unresolved suffering; prayer is not a promise of a particular medical outcome.
Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.
